For over 30+ years, I've been curating, selling, collecting, and consuming wine. I have carefully built a personal wine cellar of over 1,600 bottles representing wine regions from around the world. Additionally, my deep expertise in the retail wine industry has contributed to my passion for fine wine.
Who am I for?
Anyone with a passion for fine wine, no matter the budget! If you want to start a new collection, if you have a small collection of less than 100 bottles, or if you are an experienced collector with a 1,000+ bottle collection, I can help.
What do I do?
I'll meet with you one-on-one to discuss your goals for your collection.
Basic services include:
Why do you need me?
I will take the time needed to find and help you build the cellar of your dreams. If you simply want a small collection of wine for everyday drinking, I will do the research and find the best deals to get you a diverse and amazing personal inventory of wines and a few of those bottles for special occasions. If you already have a big collection, I will work with you to diversify and find ways to balance out your cellar with wines for aging and early consumption, and help craft your personal wine list to your tastes and desires. I have over 30 years of experience buying wine and visiting with wine makers around the world, and look forward to sharing that experience with you.
What does it cost?
Each account will be taken on an individual basis and my services will be priced according to the size, needs, and value of your cellar. I will work with you and your budget, no matter how big or small.
I offer my expertise in wine collecting and wine tasting services to private clients, both in their homes and workplace. I can help anyone wishing to expand their breadth and depth of wine knowledge.
My background includes 14 years at a retail wine store that I co-founded called Amazing Grapes Wine Store in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. I have a strong retail business acumen that shapes my work in building forward-thinking wine ventures.
Nope, I Choose Experience Over Certification And Here's Why...
I'll be honest with you; I don't have a sommelier certification. Nope, no Court of Master Sommeliers credentials and no WSET diplomas hanging on my wall. In fact, I don't have any certifications; and I'm not pursuing them.
This isn't an oversight or something I'm working toward—it's a deliberate choice. Long ago I realized something important; some of the most memorable wine experiences I've had weren't led by certified sommeliers. They were led by passionate people who loved wine and knew how to share that love with others. People like me!
I've built my wine expertise through thousands of bottles, countless conversations with winemakers, and years of creating pairings that make people fall in love with wine all over again. The most memorable wine experiences aren't about credentials. They're about connections, curiosity, and the ability to make wine approachable and exciting. That's exactly what I do.
So here's the question I had to answer for myself, and maybe you're asking it about me too: do I really need that certification to create exceptional wine experiences? My answer is no. And here's why I believe my approach might actually be what you're looking for.
What I Bring to the Table
Pure, Unfiltered Passion
My enthusiasm for wine is infectious because it's genuine. I communicate about wine in ways that make you excited to try something new, but not intimidated by terminology. Every tasting I host is about discovery and enjoyment, not proving how much I know. This approach creates experiences people actually remember and talk about long after the last glass is poured.
Real-World Education
My knowledge comes from doing, not studying for exams. Every bottle I open teaches me something. Every pairing I create adds to my understanding. Every conversation with a winemaker gives me insights you won't find in textbooks. I've traveled to wine regions and built relationships with producers. This hands-on education makes me better at what I do than any certification program could.
Creative Freedom
I think outside the box because I'm not confined by one. My best pairings often break traditional rules, and that's exactly why they work so brilliantly. I trust my palate, experiment fearlessly, and create combinations that surprise and delight. Without the pressure to conform to classical training, I'm free to innovate and discover what truly works for modern palates.
Strategic Investment
While others spend thousands on certification fees and study materials, I invest in what actually matters: wine itself. With a personal collection of over 1600 bottles I'm constantly expanding my tasting knowledge. Every extra dollar I have goes toward making me better at creating exceptional wine experiences for you, not toward letters after my name.
What You Get When You Work With Me
I offer something many certified sommeliers don't; accessibility combined with genuine expertise. With me, you get someone who:
Why This Approach is Better
Certification teaches you to taste wine a certain way. I've learned to taste wine in every way possible. I'm not limited by doctrine or tradition. I combine classical knowledge with modern creativity, creating experiences that feel fresh and exciting rather than stuffy and formulaic.
When you work with me, you get personalized attention and custom recommendations based on your actual preferences, not textbook pairings. You get someone who listens, adapts, and creates experiences tailored specifically for you.
What Sets Me Apart
My competitive advantage isn't a certificate—it's my approach. I build trust through transparency, deliver value through experience, and create loyalty through exceptional results. I don't need to rely on credentials because my work speaks louder than any piece of paper ever could.
I've cultivated relationships throughout the wine industry that give me access to exceptional bottles and insider knowledge. I stay ahead of trends, discover hidden gems before they become mainstream, and bring that expertise directly to you.
The Bottom Line
I chose this path intentionally. I could pursue certification, but I've chosen to invest that time and money into becoming the best at what I actually do: creating unforgettable wine experiences.
Certification is one way to prove expertise. Real world results are better. My satisfied clients, successful events, and growing reputation prove that my approach works. I'm not apologizing for my lack of formal credentials—I'm celebrating the depth and breadth of experience I've gained by charting my own path.
When you choose to work with me, you're choosing someone who brings passion, creativity, extensive hands-on experience, and a genuine commitment to making your wine experience extraordinary. You're choosing someone who approaches wine the way it should be approached: with curiosity, joy, and a focus on connection rather than pretension.
Let me show you what wine can be when expertise meets enthusiasm. Pour yourself a glass—this is going to be good.
